The entire parade route is paved, but it does slope downhill at the start. For a shorter, flatter route, join at IODE Park further down Baker. The weather is usually hot with full sun, so dress for it, bring water, and wear sunscreen.

Are you coming out to celebrate 30 years of Pride parades in Nelson?

On Saturday, September 5, come march with us from Wildflower School, or join us at IODE Park for just the Baker St portion. Set-up happens at 2 pm, and the parade kicks off at 3 pm.

If you’re joining as an organized group, business, car, trailer or float, or you have any needs or requests for us, please sign up ahead of time. There’s no cost to register. It just gives us a chance to sort out marching order, get an idea of numbers and needs, and make sure everyone gets the information they need. If you’re coming as an individual or with a few friends, you can just show up.

The route

  1. Gather at Wildflower School, 811 Stanley Street, from 2 pm. The parade leaves at 3 pm sharp.
  2. Or join at IODE Park, at the top of Baker Street (the 700 block), for a shorter and flatter walk. The parade turns onto Baker a little after 3.
  3. The parade finishes at Baker and Falls Street, at the bottom of Baker.

Join us on the 300 block of Baker (by The Royal) for the Block Party from 4 – 7 pm!

The route, start to finish. The Block Party is on the 300 block of Baker, just before the finish.
Smoke note: Wildfire smoke is common in the summer. Please check the air quality (weather.gc.ca/airquality) and consider wearing a mask. Masks are welcome at all of our events for any reason.

We encourage you to consider alternative means of transit, including buses, carpooling, walking, or biking, if possible. Please try to leave parking close to the event open for those with accessibility needs, and please use this parking if you need.
